Jane Ainbinder is a photographer based on the Eastside of Seattle. She brings her filmmaking expertise to shooting portraits: expressing mood and beauty with light and telling your story in a frame.

Jane’s photography experience spans over a 20-year period starting with her early work as a camera assistant on independent films. She worked her way up through the camera department and became a cinematographer of award-winning independent films and an editor of broadcast commercials. Steeped in a field that centers around photography, she developed a keen eye for lighting, camera operation, production design, and how to work with actors. She eventually wrote, directed, and produced her own independent feature film, Nail Polish, which screened nationally and was awarded Best 35mm Feature Film at the Long Island Film Festival and Best Homegrown Film at the Garden State Film Festival. Jane also holds an MFA from USC School of Cinematic Arts and is a recipient of the John Huston Directing Scholarship, a Fleishhacker Foundation Grant, and the Panavision New Filmmakers Grant.

Jane brings her extensive movie-making experience and sensibilities to her portrait sessions and loves working with people to capture their best looks while having fun!

When not behind a camera, Jane enjoys reading, creative writing, learning to play the cello, and spending time with family and friends.
